I wasn't searched, neither was my car. I've been told however not to get out of my vehicle if there is no female cop present. I told him I didn't want to get out the car and I felt very uncomfortable with two male cops there, and me out of my car vunerable

Um- I don't know who told you to not get out of a car without a female officer present but they're dead wrong.

The only time a female police officer is necessary is when a female subject is being searched.

When a police officer tells you to do something do it- save yourself a whole lot of trouble and do it.

Yeah, you just need a female cop there if they are going to strip search you.

A male officer can certainly order a female out of a vehicle. There are no laws prohibiting it. And at least within my jurisdiction, there are no laws preventing a male officer from searching or "patting down" a female. Some police departments have an internal policy that specifies when a male officer can search a female. But its not illegal. Think about it. What happens when no female officers are available (out on other calls etc.)?

Don't know where you got that info., of course you have to, otherwise they will use pepper spray or taser. SOmetimes the adrenelin of a good fight is worth it though).
As to the first poster's answer, a female officer is not required to be present during a search, if there's one available, fine, otherwise, I've been searched by male cops. They usually don't do it as thouroughly, but they certainly could if they felt it was neccesary. Not a strip search though, I don't think.

Of course a male police officer can have you exit your vehicle. Woo told you not to gte out of your car? Obviously they want to get your a$$ arrested for disobeying a lawful order.

I don't need a female officer if I determine I need to perform a pat down search for weapons either. However, a search for contraband will be performed by a female officer as I can't be fcuked to deal with a BS sexual harrassment suit.

I suggest you see a therapist to determine while you feel "uncomfortable" around males.
