The police do not have the resources to sit on a car and wait for someone to drive.
The more specific information you provide about when and where he drives, the more likely he will eventually be caught. |

Leave it be, you will most likely get a lot of flack when you finally get rid of him
My advice? Get a camera hooked up, a good one |

Your facts are just that YOUR's, the police have procedures they must follow, and until they see him in a motor vehicle violation, they can not justify a stop. your anger has to be dealt in another way.

get into a small fender bender with him or have one of your friends "accidently" bump him at a red light....call the police to report the minor accident and they will run his license ;)
and im not sayin smash into the guy and cause a huge reck...i mean like at a redlight or something lightly bump his car as if your foot slipped off the brake...and if he takes off you have his plates and a description of the driver and then its a higher charge |

If you can catch him while he is driving you can make an anonymous call to the police and give them the license plate number and tell them you think the driver is intoxicated and say he is swerving in the road. By doing this the police have to investigate.
Edit Someone I know did this to their ex who was driving on suspension. |

What you are saying is hearsay, you can only speculate that he has no DL or is suspended, you are evicting him and that is civil in nature, i would not touch this with a ten foot poll, you sound vindictive, just go through the court proses and get him out of your life.... FYI i would have to see him drive his car in order for me to do something... not based off your word.

you are in the process of eviction... thats about as much as you can do...
unless you call the police as he is leaving the house after having some drinks and tell them that you just witnessed someone who was highly intoxicated enter their vehicle and drive off.... then just evict him and get that monkey of your back. |

If you want him arrested, you will need to provide as much information as you can possibly get. For example, the car's description (color/plate/make/model), direction of travel (north on 55th Street from 8th Ave) and a description of the driver (male/female, etc). Call your local police and provide the information to them when you see him driving. If he as at home, there is nothing that can be done.
As a side note, though, is it really worth getting this person in more legal/financial trouble when they are already three months late on the money they owe you? I understand your frustration with the rent situation. But this may not be a good choice for you in the long run, since you will have to stand in line with the rest of the creditors, criminal courts, etc for payment. |
