Ok so heres the deal.... I am VERY stressed out with my neighbors. Back on December 4th I got out of the shower at 6am and went to get my clothes from the laundry room and noticed someone at my kitchen window looking at me. Turns out that my PERVERTED neighbor JODY ADAMS (male) had been watching me in the mornings, by climbing my fence to get into my back yard. The cops were called and ever since (as you can imagine) things are really tense. Well now that it is warm outside I have been in our backyard with my 2 daughters alot and EVERYDAY Jody and his girlfriend are smoking pot in their backyard. I have to deal with the smell everyday and I want to report it but if I call the cops then they will know it was me that did it and try to confront me and I DO NOT want to talk to them. His girlfrind has a good job and is trying to better herself unlike the scum bag she lives with so I hate to get her in trouble but I should not have to deal with the smell of pot.
Should I try to write a letter to the girlfriend and tell her that I want them to smoke inside or I will call the cops or should I just go ahead and call the cops the next time I notice it and let Jody get what he deserves? I am not comfortable with him or her but I feel bad that she in the situation that she is in, I know she wants out so I hate to make it worse on her by possibly sending her to jail but I want SOOOO much for Jody to get locked up for as LONG AS POSSIBLE. Please help me with my internal struggle.

Oooo, sticky situation. You have to live by these people. I would try to handle it yourself, but know that if that doesn't work, and the cops come out, they'll know it was you. I'd try to talk to his girlfriend and tell her that you personally don't give a hoot what they do, but you have children that don't need to be exposed to drugs. Best of luck!

I would ask them politely not to smoke weed outside, then let the mater drop one way or the other, if you every catch him doing anything else illegal I would call the police then, Calling the police for a bit of dope is a waste of police time, even though I am anti-drugs myself,

Report it and file a nuisance complaint with the DA's office. Get a camera and see if you can catch the creep peeping at you. You cannot take any pictures of him in his yard, because that is an invasion of his privacy and it's against the law. But you can put a hidden camera on your property to record anything that happens in your pursuit of privacy on your property. If they do noting with the first complaint keep complaining, eventually they will investigate.

Normally, I would counsel against calling the Cops ever, for any reason. The police are 'Law Enforcement Officers' and they are not your friends nor are they on 'your side'. If someone 'happens' to be 'helped' by them doing their job they should consider themselves to be very lucky indeed! In this situation however children, your children are involved. Next time they were out there lighting up, I would go to the nearest pay phone, put on a pair of gloves and call 911 and report them as dealing drugs, claiming that I was a disgruntled customer etc.,. Then, I'd go home and watch the show. As for the 'girlfriend', to bad/so sad: sleep with dogs you get fleas!
