Terrorism should be justified, and is, by people who still think that there remains a question as to whether innocent people should be killed for one reason or another beyond the peace and serenity some find in carrying out such notions.

Interesting question. I would say yes just based on the fact that if I found myself occupied by a foreign nation, I would do everything in my power to expel them.

Terrorism is a very large term first of all. If you are refering to kidnaping and suicide attacks and killing random people, then no it is never justified

lets define terrorism "the use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aim" according to the American Oxford Dictionary
I'm sure you MUST know this already so now you answer, should that be justified? |

the mere use of the word terrorism implies innocent people or non combatants are involved.those who cannot defend themselves. 911 was terrorism,Pearl Harbor was a military surprise attack. terrorism is just plain murder, never justified.

Depends on who considers it terrorism and why.
In WWII the resistance groups who fought the Nazis were considered terrorists by the Nazis. Those resistance groups were not terrorist though, they were people fighting for whats right. On the opposite, groups like Al Queda attack us just for the sake of attacking us. They're not fighting against evil, they're evil themselves. |

I would never support terrorism but I do think that our country has "screwed" with other countries relentlessly in the past and we have created our own problem. Example: Ollie North was selling american arms to the Arab Nation of Afganistan in the eighties. Then when our Govt. got caught doing this, they found a scrape goat being North and tried to prosecute him. Don't you think our nation would have known about the arms deal.?
Now we have Special Forces over there fighting the same people that have been fighting each other for a thousand years. A religious war. My thought is, we messed with them in the past and now, the only way they can fight back is terrorism. Again I do not support terrorism but I feel that we are being sold a bill of goods and have only heard half of the story. |

Guerilla Warfare is justifiable...when a militia is outnumbered and outgunned....and a traditional battle would result in huge losses...then untraditional/ guerilla style tactics are justifiable
Terrorism is not justifiable...the practice of killing/maiming civilians in an attempt to scare governmental bodies is horrible...there is a huge difference between shooting a soldier or blowing up a marine and shooting/killing innocent bystanders....Terrorism is never justifiable |

I don't understand the question. Do you mean that before its carried out it should be justified?
Or justified by any means? |
