I am a RSO according to State of PA for sexual assault against minor for simply swatting stepdaughter on behind who had just left shower. Her little friend at time told her mother who mother called police alleging sexual assault. Stepdaughter wrote judge letter stating it was totally exaggerated; told police twice I did nothing wrong. Still found guilty; placed on registry 9 years ago in PA. Wife and I divorced and moved on. BTW, at no time was stepdaughter removed from the home prior to court appearance nor were my two younger sons. Back to present time. I remarried, relocated to NC. Got call from Sheriff's Office in Jan this year telling me to come to register. Didn't know I had to. Honestly. I registered; was told I had to be registered for 10 MORE years here in NC. Also in violation of living too close to schools. Knew nothing of restrictions! Told to move. Lived in truck at WalMart until new arrangements; told I could eat, shower there at house. 2 pics taken showing truck at house
at house; one during day; other at night. My family &I moved to new county well out of distance of school; out in boonies. Cop said few weeks back before the move he had pics, showed to me said DA would decide if I was in trouble. There were times wife needed truck because of drs appt recently had open heart surgery. Was told if I moved to complete a form, did that. Registered in new county. If they want to arrest me why not come to house and do it? Why make me go in? TXTopCop: 1. My "tale" plainly states I was found guilty BUT not by a jury. My attorney told me to take the plea. All evidence was presented at the time including the letter. I NEVER once asked her to write it; she chose to do so on her own!!! 2. MY PO advised he would have me placed on the registry. Not ONCE did he tell me about change of address, etc. Nor did my attorney tell me this nor did the judge. 3. Excuse me, sir but with all due respect, from everything I have researched since January of this year, the residency/work restrictions did NOT come into effect until the Lunsford Law was enacted and that is a rather new law as YOU KNOW. Further, it was left up to EACH state to make their decision as to whether to enact it for their state. 4. I AM registered in NC and have been for months. I have complied with the Sheriff's Office. Was told I could eat/shower/receive mail at old address but could not sleep there until we could move. TXTopCop: Further, they have 2 pics of my truck parked in driveway at old house where I was in violation. One taken during day and one at night. Based on the "surveillance" they ASSUME I was there 24/7 which is NOT so. AGAIN, my wife recently had open heart surgery and needed the one and only vehicle to get to drs appts, etc. AND she couldn't drive right away. PLUS, perhaps I was showering, eating, etc. during the time these 2 pictures were taken. Never mind, though. I am finished with looking for answers in this arena. I will just consult with an attorney tomorrow. |

You might be arrested but I doubt it.
I wouldn't go to the cop shop & talk to them unless they had a warrant. |

1. Your tale isn't telling the whole story. You either pled guilty or were found guilty by a jury. If you had an evidence that the offense didn't occur, you would have presented it at that time, not have the stepdaughter write a letter.
2. If you are a registered sex offender YOU KNOW that you are required to register when ever you move, even in the same city. 3. Again, as a sex offender, you know that you have limitations as to where you can live, work, etc. 4. You will go to prison for 'fail to register'. In NC, you're looking at 5-8 years minimum. |
